ur Story Gina & Mollie Mollie and Gina met in November 1993 at a Longaberger® Home Show in Sonora, California. Mollie was the consultant and Gina was a guest. Little did they both know what the Lord had in mind for their friendship, when Gina timidly asked Mollie if she could become a consultant, too! The "weaving" together of their future friendship began that night over nine years ago. They attended their first Longaberger Basket Bee in the summer of 1994 and experienced the "charm" of Dresden together over five incredible days. They returned to Dresden several times over the years and never stopped wondering what it would be like to live there. In 1996 Mollie and her family moved to Europe where her husband worked. They lived in Ireland and Germany for three years. When the decision was made to move back to the States, Mollie thought, "Why not live in Dresden?" They moved to Dresden in the summer of 1999. Gina, still living in California, became aware of Italian Charm Bracelets in August of 2001. After purchasing her first bracelet, she soon began telling Mollie how much fun she was having with her story bracelet. They soon discovered that Mollie was unable to locate a bracelet in Ohio. Mollie bought her first bracelet while in California in January of 2002 and they began to seriously "weave" the dream of opening their own store. They had so much fun personalizing their bracelets, they felt they should bring the unique concept to Ohio, and what better place than "charming" Dresden. With the help of a third partner, they opened "The Charm of Dresden" in April 2002. Visitors come to Dresden not only for the wonderful story of The Longaberger Co., but also for the "charm" of Dresden. Hence our name! After the 2002 Basket Convention, the partnership was reduced to just Mollie and Gina. Their "story bracelets" continue to grow with charms that tell of their children (Mollie's four and Gina's three), their many activities, their love for their husbands, their faith, their country and, of course, baskets! They are woven, and now linked, together in friendship and love. We are so grateful to the Lord and to all of you for becoming such an important part of our ongoing story at "The Charm of Dresden!" |
